Season of rainbows

Monday's intermittent showers provided a playground for rainbows. Over the course of three or four hours, arcs of color appeared against the clouds to the east, breaking and reforming as the rain moved through the Tanana Valley. Read more and add a comment

Calypso orchids - the hider of the north

I've been fascinated by Calypso orchids, also called fairy slippers, since I was a kid reading "Thumbelina," and saw illustrations of the flowers on fairytale characters. 1 comment
